This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Marie Aminata Khan who was born in United Kingdom on 14 December 1963 and passed away on 12 December 2011 at the age of 48. She is survived by her sons Frederic and Charles. We will remember her forever.

Marie Aminata Khan  
Ms. Marie Aminata Khan, fondly known as Tity, passed away at the age of 47 on December 12, 2011, while on official mission in Johannesburg, South Africa after a short illness.

Born December 14, 1963 in Manchester, England, Marie Aminata, a loving mother of two, attended the United Nations International School (UNIS) and SUNY Plattsburg. Marie Aminata lived in New York, Freetown, Sierra Leone, Yaounde, Cameroon, and Niamey, Niger before settling in Montreal, Canada in 2006.

Marie Aminata spent the last 17 years of her professional career working with the United Nations, notably with UN-HQ in New York, UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme, New York and, since 2006, UNEP-SCBD in Montreal, Canada. She will be remembered as a highly competent and dedicated colleague, as well as a very caring, lively, and good-natured friend. She will be sorely missed.

Marie Aminata leaves behind her sons, Frédéric and Charles, her father, step-mother, brothers and sisters, and family at home and abroad. She will be laid to rest in New York beside her late mother, Haja Salimatu T. Khan, on Sunday, December 18, 2011.
